DGHS: In the past 24 hours, 7 people died from coronavirus infection, with 497 new infection cases
Professor Nasima Sultana, Director General (Administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services, said in a briefing that the current death toll is 152.
In the past 24 hours, 47 Covid-19 tests came back positive. This brings the total number of infections to 5,913.
Since yesterday, a total of 3,812 samples have been tested nationwide, an increase of 9.66% compared to the previous day.
DGHS officials also stated that, at the same time, nine more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 131. The actual number of recoveries may be higher than this figure because they only recorded the total number of those who were treated in hospitals and then recovered. She also mentioned: 'Soon, we will collect information about those who recovered at home.'
Among the seven deceased, six were male, five were from Dhaka, one from Sylhet, and one from Rajshahi.
Among them, five were over 60 years old, one was between 40-51 years old, and one was under 10 years old.
Dr. Nasima said that in the past 24 hours, a total of 85 people have been quarantined nationwide.
So far, no Covid-19 patients have been found in four districts: Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Satkhira, and Natore.
